Paipa is a town located just 2 hours and half from Bogota (approximately 180km), which has  an historical importance because the penultimate battle for independence of Colombia took place here. Additionally, it is an excellent rest destination because its hot springs and the Sochagota lake.

VISIT THE “HACIENDA EL SALITRE” 

The “Hacienda El Salitre” is a colonial mansion, considered historical heritage for being the home of the liberator Simon Bolivar after the battle of the Vargas swamp and before the Battle of the Boyacá bridge, between August 3rd and 4th of 1819. A perfect place to have lunch and a glass of mulled wine.
